About.
Surveys in which participants are not anonymous will not elicit truthful responses. More importantly, we believe it is UNETHICAL to depend on trusted third parties (such as traditional online survey providers) to provide anonymity when dealing with sensitive survey data that participants provide under the assumption that they are anonymous. Recent attacks on major companies (e.g., Sony) have demonstrated that such solutions may be breached, and the anonymity they claim to provide is just an illusion.
The Anonize system is based on cryptographic protocols vetted by the academic community (see How it works), and was developed at University of Virginia, Northeastern University and Cornell Tech by professors Abhi Shelat and Rafael Pass (Cornell University).
